Veteran Horse Society honours 'Ypres'

Each year the Veteran Horse Society presents an achievement award to an outstanding equine. For 2007, the accolade went to a remarkable contender by the name of Ypres...

Ypres isn't a retired event horse or ex-dressage superstar, but a black, 16hh, 17- year-old gelding from the Metropolitan Police Ride who has served his country with loyalty and distinction for over 13 years.

Horse in a million
Julianne Aston, founder of the Veteran Horse Society, commented: "It will be my absolute honour to present Ypres with the 2007 Achievement Award at Olympia... he really is a horse in a million."
